WINNIE-THE-POOH: THE MOST FAMOUS BEAR IN THE WORLD

Alan Titchmarsh walks in the footprints of AA Milne and the paw prints of Winnie-the-Pooh to discover why, after 90 years, we all still love this bear of very little brain. He discovers that Milne was a successful West End playwright who had never written a children's book before, but his life changed when Christopher Robin, his only child, was born and he wanted to give him a magical childhood away from the city. Using toys that he bought from Harrods and inspired by a visit to London Zoo, Milne created stories that were expertly illustrated by E H Shepard. Alan Titchmarsh investigates the magic that was created by their partnership, visits the exquisite Sussex cottage where Milne lived, plays Pooh sticks in The Hundred Acre Wood and reveals the difficulties that the worldwide success of Winnie-the-Pooh brought to the Milne family.
